The Broadway Theatre is Saskatchewan's only community-owned, non-profit repertory cinema. Over the past several years, the Friends of the Broadway Theatre, Inc. have raised over $1.4 million. This money has gone towards the modernization and restoration of this beautiful 1946 Art Deco building for today's arts scene. In 2008 we upgraded our cinema experience to current standards – 5.1 digital surround sound, a new, larger screen, and upgraded our projection equipment – through the support of many and a matched-grant from Canadian Heritage.
The Broadway Theatre currently hosts 2 fundraising events each year (Taste of Broadway and the Bluenose Bash), as well as sending an update/donation letter to current members each year. While our goal is to keep the theatre sustainable on it’s own, this can be difficult. The donations and grants the Broadway has received over the years are invaluable to not only our operations, but to new and varied programming that touches the larger community. If you’d like to donate anytime, this can be done by mail, in person at the theatre or on the phone @ 652.6556.

The Broadway Theatre is always looking for volunteers. We use volunteers to do many things at the Theatre including pick-up and delivery, helping out at live events, fundraising mailouts, special box office, Fringe Festival/Street Fair, and others. If you are interested in volunteering at the Broadway Theatre, please email us at volunteer@broadwaytheatre.ca or call us at 652-6556
